Deadline for Submissions: You may submit Artwork at the American Eagle Stores located in Ross Park Mall or Southside Works on or before April 23, 2011 during regular operating hours. No artwork will be accepted or considered after Close of Business at the American Eagle Stores on April 23, 2011.
Winner selected by committee and publicly announced at the Pittsburgh Zoo and PPG Aquarium on Saturday, April 30th.

Official Contest Description, Rules and Regulations:
Contest Description: American Eagle Outfitters and KidsVoice “Kites for Kids
Educational Scholarship Contest” (the Contest) invites youth age 5-21 to create
an original piece of kite themed artwork. Judges will select the winning entry and
one grand prize of a $5000 scholarship will be awarded in accordance with these
rules. Kites for Kids is an opportunity for KidsVoice to communicate a message of
hope and advocacy, and familiarize people with KidsVoice’s role in protecting our
most precious resource, our children.
To Enter: Entrants should submit one original kite or piece of kite themed
artwork from April 1 – April 23rd to the American Eagle stores in Ross Park Mall
or Southside Works. Art work must be accompanied by a completed application and
an original written message from the applicant about how their artwork symbolizes
even our vulnerable children have a right to have hope, a happy childhood and a
chance to soar. All entries must be submitted by the close of business at the American
Eagle Outfitters Store in Ross Park Mall or Southside Works on April 23, 2011. Any
entries received before or after the designated contest entry period will be disqualified.
Contest entrants will not be notified of disqualification for missing the entry
period. Only one entry per person. Artwork cannot be larger than 48”x48” and can
weigh no more than 10lbs. Sponsor is not responsible for, and will not honor lost,
late, damaged, misdirected, illegible, or otherwise incomplete entries.
Judging: All eligible entries received will be judged by a panel of representatives
from American Eagle Outfitters and KidsVoice. The judging will occur at the Pittsburgh
Zoo and Aquarium on Saturday, April 30, 2011 at the Kites for Kids Event. Judging
criteria will be based on 50% creativity, 25% originality, and 25% clarity of the
artwork and entrant summary. The judges will review each submission as they deem
appropriate, and the decision for the sole winner will be final and binding.
Sponsor reserves the right to alter all submitted artwork to conform with any color
accuracy, reproduction or printing requirements. Submission of an entry grants the
Sponsor and its agents the right to publish, use, adapt, edit and/or modify the
entry in any way, and in any and all media, without any limitation. Submission of
the entry constitutes the entrant’s, and parent/guardian’s, consent to irrevocably
assign and transfer to the Sponsor any and all rights, title and interest in the
entry, including without limitation, any copyrights. Entrants must be the original
work of the entrant, may not have won previous awards, must not have been published
previously, and must be suitable for public display.
Prize: There is one (1) prize for a $5000.00 post-secondary education scholarship.
Artwork may be used by the Sponsor in any future event or publication, and no compensation,
other than outlined herein, shall be paid in connection with the use of the winning
original artwork. The winner will be notified by phone and registered mail on or
before May 15, 2011. If the winner is between the ages of 5 – 17, the $5000.00 post-secondary
education scholarship prize will be awarded in the form of a 529 and in the name
of the parent/legal guardian as custodian for the minor child. If the winner is
between the ages of 18-21, the winner will need to produce to KidsVoice a tuition
statement, and upon proper verification, KidsVoice will pay the full amount of the
$5000.00 post-secondary education scholarship prize directly to the verified educational
institution.
Taxes and/or fees associated with opening the 529 college savings plan, if any,
are the responsibility of the winners. Prize may not be transferred, no prize substitution
or cash redemption. If, for any reason, the prize cannot be awarded as stated herein,
Sponsor reserves the right to substitute the prize for one of equal or lesser value.
Under no circumstances will the $5000.00 post-secondary education scholarship prize
be awarded in the form of a check to a minor, parent/legal guardian, or winner of
the age of majority.
General Conditions: Contest is open to all U.S. Residents who are ages 5-21.
All Employees of American Eagle and KidsVoice, its affiliates, agencies, and the
immediate families (parent, child, sibling or spouse) or household members of each
are not eligible. Submission of entry and parent/legal guardian’s written consent
on the application (for entrants under 18), constitutes permission to use (and to
confirm such use in writing) the winner’s name, city, photo and/or likeness for
advertising, trade purposes and promotional use, in any and all media now known
or hereinafter invented, without further compensation, except where prohibited or
restricted by law. American Eagle and KidsVoice, or its directors, employees, agents,
successors, and/or assigns and their advertising and promotional agencies assume
no responsibility or liability for damages, losses or injury resulting from the
acceptance, possession or use/misuse of the prize or participation in this contest.
All entries will become the property of Sponsor and will not be returned.
Official Rules: For an extra copy of the official rules, entrants can log

stamped #10 business envelope to KidsVoice Kite Contest c/o Jamie Cohn, 437 Grant
St., Suite 700, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Request must be received by April 5, 2011
and limit one request per postmarked mailing envelop.
Winner: The first name and last initial of the winner, grade, school and
state, will be posted on the Web site within one month of the end of the contest
and judging, and the winner’s first and last initial, grade and state may be posted
any future promotional media. For the winner’s first name and home city, send a
self-addressed, stamped #10 business envelope to: KidsVoice Kite Contest c/o Jamie
Cohn, 437 Grant St., Suite 700, Pittsburgh, PA 15219. Request must be received by
May 15, 2011 and limit one request per mailing envelope.
